Beyonce has already dominated the music industry and now has its sights set on the hair care business. The Grammy winner, 42, officially announced her new hair care line. Cécredvia Instagram on February 6th. Bey posted one cryptic video with home recordings of her mother Tina Knowles' former salon, Headliners Hair Salon, where Bey had her first job before becoming a superstar. “Hair is sacred,” Beyoncé wrote in the caption.

The products were discontinued on February 20, 2024, when Queen Bey announced that her charity BeyGOOD would be partnering with the brand to launch a scholarship fund. “We are proud to announce the Cécred x BeyGOOD Fund, which will provide financial support to cosmetology students and professional hairdressers in the beauty industry,” he said Instagram post read on BeyGOOD's account on Tuesday. “$500,000 in scholarships and grants are awarded annually to salon businesses in five markets. The schools were chosen because of their large, diverse community of hairdressers in Atlanta, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles and New Jersey.”

Beyoncé before teased her hair care brand back in May 2023. She shared a note on Instagram that hinted at the business venture. “How many of you knew my first job was sweeping hair at my mom's salon?” Bey wrote. “I met so many different types of female entrepreneurs at her salon. I've seen firsthand how the way we care for and care for hair can directly impact our soul. Because I’ve learned so much on my hair journey, I’ve always dreamed of carrying on her legacy.”

What is Cécred?

Cécred is Beyoncé's first hair care line. The company's name is pronounced “holy,” which explains why Beyoncé said that “hair is sacred” when she announced the brand. The accent mark on Cécred is apparently a reference to the singer's name.

“It has always been a dream of mine to develop a hair care line,” Beyoncé said, according to a marketing email to fans ABC News. “That's why I'm so proud to share Cécred, which celebrates and honors the wisdom in our hair. I am excited that you are now part of this community and can help create an intimate and powerful space where we can share our journeys, our hair secrets, and protect all things sacred.”

What products and services does Cécred offer?

The products sold by Cécred were revealed on the brand's launch date of February 20, 2024 – but there could be more to come. Accordingly CNNA trademark application filed in summer 2022 gave the company clearance to produce hair care products, candles, vitamin supplements, electric hair styling devices, combs, hair accessories, pillowcases and four other categories of goods and services.

The silicone- and cruelty-free hair care line currently offers the foundation collection, including a moisturizing shampoo, a clarifying shampoo and scalp scrub, a fermented rice and rose protein ritual, a moisturizing deep conditioner, a nourishing hair oil, a ritual shake vessel, a Moisture sealing lotion and much more reconstructive treatment mask. The products currently range from $20 to $52.00.

Beyonce credits her mother, former hairstylist Tina Knowles, with inspiring the collection. “I have vivid memories of my mother working as a hairdresser in our home,” Beyoncé said beings for an interview published on February 20th. “She built a little parlor behind our house and I can remember catching glimpses of her while watching cartoons or playing with my dolls and toys. These moments are burned into every corner of my childhood memories.”

When does Cécred appear?

Beyoncé's hair care line was made available on Tuesday, February 20th. Fans can sign up for email updates and purchase the newly launched foundation collection from the official store Cécred website.
