Ryan GoslingThe fans noticed Eva Mendes' absence from his red carpet events (including his legendary Oscars performance “I'm Just Ken”), but the couple came to an unspoken “agreement” after welcoming their children that they would retire from acting and become one another should focus on motherhood, Eva explained during a recent TODAY Look. Ryan, 43, and Eva, 50, share daughters Esmeralda and Amada.

“It was almost like a nonverbal agreement: 'Okay, he's going to work and I'm going to work.' “I’m just going to work here,” Eva explained on Tuesday, March 26th. “He went and did his job. He's just really good at his job. And he did it and came home.”

As for the feeling of quitting auditions to focus on raising her children, Eva noted that it felt “like a given” to her. “I would be so happy if I could spend this time with my children,” she emphasized.

Eva ended her post by pointing out how “extremely proud” she was to be “that Barbie of Ken.”
