Natalee Holloway‘s brother, Matthew Holloway, shared exclusive insights about his sister in a recent documentary, unveiling fresh, chilling revelations from the aftermath of her unimaginable demise. The 18-year-old from Alabama vanished during a school excursion to Aruba in 2005. In October 2023, the main suspect, Joran van der Sloot, a native of the Netherlands, admitted to murdering her on the shore after being transported to the United States to face charges related to racketeering and wire fraud. Titled Pathological: The Lies of Joran van der Sloot, a new documentary on Peacock reveals previously unrevealed details about the case of the 19-year-old, with a sneak peek showing Matthew reminiscing about his sorrowful memories.

“I recall my father leaping into a garbage dump and physically tearing open garbage bags,” Matthew recalled in the trailer, initially disclosed by E! News. “He was utilizing heavy machinery, lifting objects with his bare hands, all in search of Natalee’s remains. Witnessing Dad’s unwavering determination was truly remarkable.”

Dave Holloway, Natalee’s father, can also be observed in the preview, discussing how he initially sensed that his daughter had passed away.

“As a parent, I had an instinctual feeling that she was no longer with us,” he stated in the clip. “However, I had to convince others that my instincts were incorrect. That perhaps we would find her alive. Yet, deep down, I had a sinking feeling that all was not well.”

Peacock’s latest documentary delves into Joran’s habitual cycle of aggression and deceit that culminated in Natalee’s and 21-year-old Peruvian man Stephanie Flores’ deaths in 2010, along with “exclusive interviews with family members of the victims, eyewitnesses, and criminal psychology authorities.” Joran was found guilty of Stephany’s murder in 2012 and sentenced to 28 years in prison. Subsequently, he received a 20-year prison term for extorting money from Natalee’s mother, Beth Holloway, by falsely promising to disclose Natalee’s whereabouts in return for $250,000.

Pathological: The Lies of Joran van der Sloot will be available on Peacock starting Tuesday, February 27.
