A well-known lawyer believes Ruby Franke could be targeted in prison for the horrific crimes she committed against her young children.

Months after her arrest and charges of child molestation, the disgraced social media personality and her former business partner Jodi Hildebrandt were sentenced on Tuesday to 4 to 60 years in prison. That's a pretty broad time frame, and the exact amount of time she will serve in prison remains unclear. Obviously, her behavior will have a big impact on whether Ruby is released four years or decades later.

But when it comes to that How She will serve her time in prison? According to a former federal prosecutor Neama RahmaniSeveral factors could influence this decision. He pointed out The US Sun on Tuesday that at the end of the day, “it’s really up to the prison officials.” And what could really influence their decision to send her into isolation for the time she's locked there, according to Rahmani, is “the danger that other inmates will pose to her.” He explained:

“People who are accused of abusing children – they are loathed by the other inmates, who often retaliate against them.”

Although those who commit sex crimes with children generally receive the most hate from other inmates, the attorney noted that the mere fact of physical abuse could make Ruby a target. This means she may need to be placed in isolation:

“Perhaps she just needs to be kept in isolation for her own safety, especially given the sensitivity of the case.”

As for her conviction? Rahmani noted that media attention surrounding a case often affects him:

“In my experience, I’ve been doing this for over 20 years, they don’t want to be perceived as soft.”

However, according to Rahmani, had Ruby not agreed to a plea deal and taken her case to court, she would have ultimately “gone down in flames” based on all the evidence against her:

“There’s really no legal defense here.”

Luckily, her children were served some justice after the horrors they endured at the hands of Ruby for years. And it sounds like life is only going to get much, much more complicated and difficult for her from here on out. Thoughts, Perezcious readers? Let us know in the comments below.
