If you were thinking of catching a glimpse of the renowned Adele during her Las Vegas residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in the upcoming weeks, then you will need to, in her own words: Find someone reminiscent of her.

The recipient of 16 Grammy Awards shared through an Instagram post on Tuesday that she is taking a break from singing and will have to reschedule the final five weekends of her residency show “Weekends with Adele.”

“I fell ill towards the end of the previous series and during my break,” she mentioned in the post. “I had not fully recovered before the shows resumed and now I am unwell again, unfortunately, it has affected my voice greatly.”

Currently, their schedule of two shows per week has been halted until the conclusion of March on medical advice, affecting ten dates of the sold-out series which will be rescheduled at a later stage.

“I deeply care for you, I will be missing you intensely, and I apologize for any inconvenience caused,” the artist expressed in her message.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Adele hinted at not being in her prime during her final performance on Saturday.

“You might sense it in my speech and my singing voice,” she reportedly remarked during the show. “I was exhausted. I had a restless night… And my inner Ursula came to roost today. I am unable to reach my high notes accurately. My sleep was disturbed and my chest feels hot. I know in about 10 days I’ll be sipping a coffee, but for now, I’ll remain here.”

Indeed, she was referring to Ursula, the sea sorceress from The Little Mermaid. Reminder: she is a mother to an 11-year-old son.

Later on, she expressed gratitude to the audience and mentioned, “I am delighted that you all had a wonderful time. 'I may seem wild, I feel bewildered… I need a vocal break.”

Adele had previously postponed her residency entirely and acknowledged in 2022 that the show could not commence on the announced date.

“I made every effort and truly believed I could prepare in time,” she shared in an interview. “I regret running it till the eleventh hour. It would have been a halfhearted performance, and I cannot present that. The audience would see right through me on stage and realize that I did not wish to deliver subpar content. I have never done something like this before and I am not about to start now.”

This is not her first bout with vocal issues: in 2011, she underwent surgery for a vocal cord hemorrhage and had to cancel a performance at London’s Wembley Stadium in 2017 due to vocal cord damage.
